How to use
- Run Dead Pixel Test or several solid-color screens first. A bright or fixed-color point is only a suspected stuck-pixel symptom; a dark point can have a different cause.
- Read the manufacturer and warranty guidance for the exact display, then read the photosensitivity and eye-safety warning completely. The page never flashes or enters Fullscreen automatically.
- Check the acknowledgement only when you are ready. If Reduced Motion is enabled, automatic cycling remains blocked and Manual color step is the lower-motion alternative before an automatic attempt.
- Configure Gentle or Standard speed, Small, Medium, or Large area, and a 1-, 5-, or 10-minute duration. Start with the smallest area, Gentle speed, and the shortest deliberate attempt.
- Position the bounded patch over the suspected point. Drag it with a mouse or trackpad, tap the surface, or focus the patch and use the arrow keys; the target remains clamped inside the surface.
- After acknowledgement, optionally enter Fullscreen when a point is near a display edge. Fullscreen adds positioning space but does not enlarge the patch or make a cycle more effective.
- Reposition the patch inside Fullscreen if needed. The same bounded target and selected settings remain in use.
- Select Start color cycle outside Fullscreen or use the Start control inside Fullscreen. Only the bounded patch cycles through red, green, blue, white, and black, and moving it does not restart the timer.
- Keep Stop immediately available. A run ends as Stopped, Complete, or Interrupted; Stop, Escape, page hiding, focus loss, and fullscreen exit stop the active cycle.
- Exit Fullscreen and recheck the point with Dead Pixel Test on several solid colors. Do not treat a temporary appearance change as a confirmed repair.
- Record your current-session observation for LAST ATTEMPT only after the automatic run has ended. Reset session before using Manual color step again.
- If the point persists, follow the exact manufacturer's support and warranty guidance. Do not repeat indefinitely, press, rub, heat, or dismantle the display.
What the result means
- Target center shows the patch's normalized position across and down the current browser surface. It is positioning feedback, not a physical pixel coordinate or calibration result.
- Cycle mode reports the selected browser interval: Gentle is 800 ms per color and Standard is 400 ms. The public automatic cycle has no shorter interval preset.
- Area reports the browser-drawn region: Small 80 × 80 px, Medium 160 × 160 px, or Large 280 × 280 px. Use the smallest region that covers the suspected point; size is not fault severity or treatment strength.
- Session shows elapsed time against the selected 1-, 5-, or 10-minute target. It is cycle progress, not repair progress, treatment progress, or a success probability.
- Status is Ready before a run, Running during color cycling, Stopped after Stop, Complete after the selected duration, or Interrupted after page hiding, focus loss, Escape, or a changed Reduced Motion preference.
- Manual color step advances one browser-drawn color without starting an automatic timer. It is a lower-motion way to inspect the target and is not a repair mode or guarantee.
- No change noticed and Possible change noticed are local self-reports for the last ended automatic attempt. They are not automatic detection or proof of permanent repair.
- A suspected stuck pixel commonly describes a point that stays bright or a subpixel channel that appears fixed. A browser cannot confirm the underlying circuit or physical cause.
- A suspected dead pixel commonly remains dark across multiple solid colors and usually needs panel or warranty support rather than a webpage. Bright, hot, subpixel, dust, protector, retention, and burn-in symptoms can differ.

Troubleshooting
- Start remains disabled
- Read the warning and check the acknowledgement. If Reduced Motion is enabled, automatic cycling is intentionally blocked; use Manual color step or change the preference before choosing an automatic run.
- The patch will not move
- Drag the dashed patch, tap an empty point on the dark surface, or focus it and use an arrow key. Positioning is clamped so the selected area stays inside the surface and page text is not selected.
- The suspected point is near an edge or corner
- Acknowledge the warning, enter Fullscreen, position the patch, and use the Start control inside the fullscreen surface. The bounded patch never expands to the whole screen.
- Fullscreen is unavailable or exits
- Basic bounded cycling and Manual color step work without Fullscreen. Browser policy varies; use the in-surface Exit/Stop action or Escape, and a native exit while running stops the cycle.
- The cycle stops when switching tabs
- This is expected. Page hiding or window blur stops the session so flashing is not left unattended; use Reset session before another deliberate attempt.
- No pixel change is visible
- Stop, then recheck with Dead Pixel Test across multiple solid colors. Do not automatically increase speed, area, or duration; the tool has no repair guarantee.
- The pixel looks different only on certain colors
- This may be a color- or subpixel-specific appearance, but the page cannot diagnose the physical cause. Compare several solid-color backgrounds from a consistent viewing position.
- The suspected pixel moves when the page moves
- It may be content, scaling, browser rendering, a screen protector, or surface contamination rather than a fixed panel pixel. Recheck with a full-screen solid color.
- Discomfort occurs
