Headphone Test

Channel, phase, and tone checks for headphones. Lower volume first and stop if anything feels uncomfortable.

Capability-dependent testPrivacy-first

Tests run locally in your browser. We do not upload keystrokes, pointer paths, or media.

Important

  • Not a medical hearing test. Missing high tones does not diagnose hearing loss.
Lower system volume first. Sounds never autoplay. Stop immediately if audio is uncomfortable. High tones and sweeps are optional — use briefly.
Web Audio is not available in this browser.

How to use

  1. Lower system volume first.
  2. Click a channel or tone button — audio never autoplays.
  3. Use Stop all sounds anytime; audio also stops when the tab hides.
  4. Record listening notes locally. The page cannot hear for you.

What the result means

  • Notes are your subjective observations only.
  • Left/right depends on wiring, OS mixers, and device profiles.
  • No automatic pass/fail or medical conclusion is produced.

Limitations

  • Cannot measure dB SPL without calibrated gear.
  • Bluetooth codecs and spatial audio can alter channels.
  • Not a hearing-health diagnostic.

Troubleshooting

No sound

FAQ

Is audio uploaded?

No. Tones are generated locally with Web Audio and never sent to a server.
