Online Mirror

Use your camera as a private browser mirror with live source switching, mirrored or unmirrored orientation, Fit or Fill, zoom, brightness, rotation, Freeze, and Fullscreen controls.

  • Browser capability-dependent
  • Camera only after Start
  • No test result history
  • No account or upload

Important

  • Mirror, fit, zoom, brightness, and rotation change only this page's display, not camera hardware or another app's output.
  • Video stays in the local browser preview; the tool does not request a microphone, record, capture photos, download media, upload frames, or save result history.
Test instrumentCamera Tests

Use a local, adjustable self-view for framing and appearance checks. The page requests video only after Start; it does not record, save, or upload camera media.

Checking camera support…

DeviceMetrik is checking browser camera support without requesting permission.

Camera: Not active

Preview: Stopped

Orientation: Mirrored · 0°

View: Fill · 1.00× · 100% brightness

Fullscreen not supported

Freeze pauses only this video element; the camera track remains active until Stop. Fullscreen and all view controls affect this page only.

How to use

  1. Choose a camera while idle, or keep the front / selfie camera preference. This does not request permission.
  2. Select Start mirror and allow camera access when the browser asks.
  3. Use Mirrored or Unmirrored, Fit or Fill, zoom, brightness, and rotation to arrange this page's self-view.
  4. Freeze a ready preview to inspect a pose or detail; Resume returns to the live view without restarting the camera.
  5. Switch cameras while live if needed. The current stream is released before the selected source opens.
  6. Select Stop camera when finished so the browser releases the video track.

What the result means

  • The preview is a browser-rendered self-view from the active camera. Mirrored orientation usually feels natural for positioning; Unmirrored shows the camera-output direction on this page.
  • Fit shows the entire camera frame and may leave empty space. Fill covers the preview area and may crop frame edges.
  • Zoom, brightness, and rotation are page presentation adjustments. They do not change the camera, its driver, or settings in meeting apps.
  • Freeze pauses only the displayed video element. It is not a photo, saved result, recording, or diagnostic measurement.

Limitations

  • This is a flexible live mirror, not a camera diagnostic. Use Webcam Test for browser-reported settings, delivered-frame observations, and a local snapshot workflow.
  • The page cannot guarantee how Zoom, Meet, Teams, recording software, or another viewer will crop, mirror, rotate, brighten, or transmit the camera output.
  • Digital zoom can soften the visible image, Fill can crop edges, and browser display brightness does not improve the light reaching the sensor.
  • Camera labels and available inputs depend on what the browser exposes, often only after permission is granted.
  • No microphone is requested. The page does not record, capture photos, download media, upload frames, or keep result history.

Troubleshooting

The browser reports that camera permission is denied
Allow camera access for devicemetrik.com in browser site settings, confirm no system privacy control is blocking it, then try again.
No camera appears or the selected camera cannot start
Reconnect or enable the camera, close another app that may be using it, then retry. A browser error does not by itself prove hardware failure.
The preview is cropped or movement feels reversed
Choose Fit to see the full frame, or toggle Mirrored / Unmirrored. These controls affect only this page.
The preview stopped after changing tabs or a track ended
Return to the page and select Start mirror again. An interrupted stream is released before a fresh preview begins.

FAQ

Does Online Mirror record or upload my camera?

No. It requests a video track only after Start and displays that stream locally in the page. It has no recording, snapshot, download, upload, microphone, or saved-history workflow.

Will other people see the same mirrored image?

Not necessarily. Mirror and rotation change only this page's preview. Conferencing and recording apps apply their own preview and output behavior.

What does Freeze save?

Nothing. Freeze pauses the current video presentation while the camera track remains active. Resume continues the same live stream; Stop releases it.

Can I switch cameras without stopping first?

Yes. Selecting another input while live releases the old stream and opens the new one. Selecting a camera while stopped only prepares the next Start.

Should I use Online Mirror or Webcam Test?

Use Online Mirror for a flexible self-view. Use Webcam Test when you need browser-reported capture settings, preview cadence observations, or a local unmirrored snapshot.
